In this study, the implementation of an information system was explored to improve the patient care process in a level III health center in Cajamarca, Peru. In the past, the health center managed everything manually, which was time-consuming and made it difficult to access clinical information. To address this challenge, it was decided to deploy an information system following the AUP methodology, divided into four phases: project conception, development, and system construction transition. In terms of technology, Microsoft Access was used as a development environment and Microsoft SQL Server as a database engine in a client-server architecture. The results were promising, since the system had a positive impact on the management of patient care, managing to reduce the execution time of the processes by 22.04% on average. Ultimately, it is stated that the Information System deployed increased its effectiveness by more efficiently managing patient care at the Cajamarca health center.
